Germanium

Germanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ge and atomic number 32. Gallium is a metalloid in the carbon group, chemically similar to its neighbors, silicon (Si) and tin (Sn). Germanium ranks 52nd in abundance of elements in the Earth’s crust, but it was discovered late due to its low concentration when found.

In normal conditions, germanium exhibits a brittle, silvery-white, semi-metallic nature. It is a semiconductor having an indirect bandgap, as is a crystalline silicon.

Germanium is used in the semiconductor industry when it is alloyed with silicon for its application in high-speed integrated circuits. Also, thanks to its high refraction index and low optical dispersion, germanium is a very used material in the optical industry.

(Ge) Materials

We offer a wide range of Germanium Evaporation Materials that are available in stock or made to order in the following shapes: Chunk, foil, pellet, wire, rod, shot, and slugs.

Aluminum Bromide Sputtering Targets and Materials

AlBr

Aluminum Bromide

  • Aluminum Bromide is any chemical compound with the empirical formula AlBrx. The most common form is the Aluminum Tribromide (AlBr3), which is colorless, sublimable hygroscopic solid and a highly reactive material.

It is a white to yellowish red solid and it is used as a medication, a catalyst and in chemical reactions.
