The LG Energy Solution’s “Next-Generation Battery Research Center, development unit, contains various labs for experiments related to the development of solid-state batteries, which are considered the next evolution in battery technology.
Solid-state batteries are seen as a potential breakthrough in battery technology due to their ability to offer higher energy density, longer lifespan, and enhanced safety compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. These batteries use solid electrolytes instead of liquid electrolytes, which eliminates the risk of leakage, thermal runaway, and other safety concerns associated with conventional batteries.
As seen in the photo from the article, one of the key equipment used for the development of all-solid-state batteries are gloveboxes as they help to ensure a controlled environment for the delicate mixing of materials needed to develop the batteries and from preventing any contaminants like dust from entering the mixture.
Korea Kiyon has supplied gloveboxes to numerous leading Korean companies engaged in ASSB research. These include not only LG Energy Solutions but also other prominent players.
As representatives of Korea Kiyon in Spain and Portugal, we PhotonExport are bringing these technologies to a wider audience.
